During the third quarter of 2024, the hack and slash category on the Android platform in Africa saw notable performance trends among the top five applications. Using data from Sensor Tower, we explore the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for these popular games.

Ninja Ryuko: Shadow Ninja Game from Monstermob USA displayed a fluctuating weekly revenue, reaching a peak of around $28 in late July before declining to about $3 by the end of September. Downloads began robustly with approximately 43K in early July, but gradually decreased to just over 20K by the end of the quarter. The game maintained a healthy number of active users, peaking at nearly 150K in early August before experiencing a gradual decline to nearly 120K by late September.

MARVEL Future Fight by Netmarble witnessed a steady revenue stream throughout the quarter, peaking at $823 in mid-August. Downloads varied significantly, from a low of around 3.1K in early July to a high of over 32K in early September. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at around 99K and reaching a high of 141K in early September before settling at approximately 106K at the quarter's close.

Stick Demon Shadow Fight from Mana Games Studio, despite being a recent release, showed an interesting revenue trend, beginning with negligible values and rising to $60 by late September. Downloads were impressive, starting with about 7K and reaching a high of over 50K by mid-August, although they tapered off to around 10K by the end of the quarter. The game saw a substantial increase in active users, peaking at over 83K in mid-August before decreasing to about 26K by the end of September.

Stormblades from Kiloo did not generate any revenue during this period. However, it maintained a steady download rate, fluctuating between 7.8K and 11K throughout the quarter. Active user numbers showed stability, with a peak of around 12K in early July and ending the quarter with approximately 10.5K.

Fighting Tiger - Liberal by JiinFeng3D also did not record revenue but maintained a consistent download and active user base. Weekly downloads peaked at about 7.2K in mid-August before declining to around 5.2K by the end of September. Active users remained fairly stable, hovering around 22K throughout the quarter.
